One of the more bizarre customer service stories I've ever read; maybe you should call corporate to complain. "“Well then buy it online.”" would've sent me out the door faster than they could have pushed it open for me, as that is the height of rudeness. To stay, only to be subjected to such inhumane treatment afterward, is just beyond the pale. Sorry they were such monsters about the whole thing, and glad the other store made things right for you and you have your new phone!
