The Week’s News, in a Tasty Stew
Another week has come and gone, which means I have another week’s worth of links to share. I’m sure you’ll find something of interest. Let’s do this one old-style:
- From the Jewish Foods Department: Two articles on Jewish food. The first related to rugelach, which I’m sure you thought came from Europe. Nope. It was invented by Jews in America. The next relates to Bagels. You’ve probably heard it is New York water that makes their bagels better (a point I dispute). Nope: It is boiling the bagels before baking.
- From the Multiple Uses Department: Here’s a real interesting article on using tea in cooking — infusing it in broths, rice, and using it as a rub on salmon. I’m going to have to try these ideas.
- From the Let’s Sing Together Department: Here’s an interesting collection of Yiddish songs.
- From the Rat Pack Department: A whole batch of interesting stuff about Las Vegas, including the hidden tunnels under the strip.
- From the Breath Easy Department: Here’s a clever idea: Fit an entire CPAP in your nose.
